Hello Elizabeth, No, my George W. Fox was born in either late 1700 or early 1800 in VA. However, I'm just wondering if your George Washington Fox may be related in any way. I think that my Fox's are of the New Jersey line, and that is pretty close to your George Washington Fox of New York. It certainly is a paper chase. Looking foreward to hearing from you again soon. Have a great day. Jerry ----- Original Message ----- From: Elizabeth Allison <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, November 07, 2002 3:56 AM Subject: Re: [FOX] Re: George W. Thank you Jerry, Yes it is a paper chase and an elusive one at that. Because they settled in Oneida County, New York, based on what I know of the settlement of that area, my Fox ancestors came from Connecticut or Fox is an anglicized version of Fuchs which points to 18th century emigration from the Palatine into the Mohawk Valley. Again thank you and, in research, a door closed can be as valuable as one which is opened.
