I was about to shut this thing down in exasperation and go to bed when I saw your post. I am searching for family that were from Doddridge County, West Union area. My auntie, shes quite elder now spoke of the family there, my ggrandmother was told to be a fullblood. That there was a 'Cherokee' village there. My grandfather was found living in a cave there by a woman from Pa and she raised him. Is there anything you can find on the names--Cumpston, Fordyce, Rush, Ross or Cummins there?
