I also was told that my Fox relatives where Cherrokee Indian. But we have a great great uncle that claims that we are no part indian at all. He refuses to acknowledge any indian blood at all even though as a boy in Mount Pleasant, Pa a picture was taken on the Fourth of July of him, my other great great uncle and my grandmother, sitting on the front porch of their house with my great grandmother who was indian!!!! No mistake about it, she had long plaited hair, dark skin, high cheek bones and a square jaw. Althogh she was wearing white womans attire. She definatly was indian. And also her sister was there also in the same attire. Thje older generation now will not admit their indian blood because they feel it is shame on the family and they are so wrong. In my search for my natural fathers side of the family it was easier to find the indian conection. He was from Morgantown, Wv and his people where pioneer settlers there. In my search there I found ! out that he was direct line liniage to Andrew Ice who according to "Earl Core author of Early Settlers of West Virginia" married a white girl who was kidnapped from the settlement of Cheat Neck, (now Cheat Lake) by indians when she was 7 yrs old. She was then returned to her family there when she was seventeen. When she came back she had a child who was 2 at that time and the child is said to be the Great Warrior Tecumsea. So if you want good sound infromation look into the writings of Earl Core. They are amazing!!!!! Let me know if this helps you out Because I am a Fox decendant too.
