My very short FOX line is that of my mother-in-law's family in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her mother is Alberta Mae MORRISON (1909- ). Her father Christian Wallace FOX (1906-1985) was s/o Christian FOX and Olga <Unknown>. Christian and Olga only had one other child, a daughter, Emma FOX (1904-1995) who married Simeon J DAVIS. Christian Sr. was b. abt. 1882 in PA and married about 1903/4. Olga was born 12/25/1881 in PA and died about 1964 (last residence was NJ according to SSDI) . My favorite trivia is that according to the 1910 census she was living and working in Phila as a glovemaker at a baseball factory. Her parents were from Ryne, Poland. In 1910 they were living on Front Street. Christian Sr.'s father was Christian FOX b. abt. 1839 in Prussia and died before 1910. His mother was Elizabeth J <Unknown> b. abt. 1837 in Germany and was alive in 1910. In 1875 they were living at 359 Martin and Christian was a carpenter. Christian and Elizabeth's other children were [all FOX]: Laura b. abt. 1864 Germany Lizzie b. abt. 1866 Germany Benjamin b. abt. 1868 Germany William b. abt. 1876 Penn. Minnie b. abt. 1873 Penn. It is not a common name so I was certainly suprised when your message appeared. When I read the location ofthe cemetery (Obion County TN) I had a feeling the two Hairalds listed on the cemete! ry list of names were related. I remembered my mom telling me many yearsago that her father (Luther Hairald) was born in Obion County TN. So with those two connections I then called my mom. She is going to check her records to verify the names. She does remember her Aunt saying hergrandparents were buried in Obion County TN. My mom and another relative (different line) have wellestablished ancestors but of a different path (mom's mother line). My mom has always had problems locatingher father's ancestors. I'm sure because records weren't always well kept back then. As I mentionedearlier, it isn't a common name and many past searches have notproduced results. Do you know of any history or relation of Adalade Hairald and William Hairald to your relatives? My momwas told by her Aunt that the Hairalds arrived in Tennessee via Indiana/North Carolina route. Hi all and Happy New Year! I am still fairly new to Genealogy and was just coming into it when the Fox Hounds group was moving from the old site to the new. I recall from the old site there was a part of the site where certain groups 'hunting the same Fox's' were joined together and had Genealogies listed. Does anyone know where that info is now? I tried to go to the old site and can't get onto it anymore. Thanks! marg PS, anyone researching the Fox/Fuchs families of Montgomery Co, PA I would love to make contact!
I am also getting back to the paperwork ! I am also interested in knowing the location of the new site.
