The connection to the Bougher line is with William Fox. William was born 1860 in Fairfield County,OHIO and he married Emma Bougher(Booker) William is the son of Otho FOX also born in Fairfield County OHIO 1824, but according to census records Otho's father was born in PA. I have been trying to locate his parents and from census deduction I believe it to be Peter Fox but just speculation at this time. Does any of your information sound like it would fit or is it wrong time period.

They are not part of my direct line but are in my Fox family. All descendants of Thomas Fox of Concord and Hannah Brooks. Linda [email protected]

I have seen this listed in a few locations but I have never seen any record of their children. Can anyone lend some assistance here? I am looking for offspring and documentation of their marriage. My hunch is that they moved from PA to Baltimore and may have lost touch with the rest of the family. - thanks

    3. Hello George & Robert, I have over four Ansel's I've found in my research of My Fox's. They all seem to have originated in the same general area of Conn. and I've never seen a Anson in the Fox line. One is My ggg-grandfather Ansel Fox was born 1778 in Litchfield, Conn. and migrated to Oneida County, NY. He had a brother Charles who moved to Herkimer County, NY along with their father Reuben. Some where in my pile of stuff I have a copy of land deeds for Charles buying land in Herkimer county. There is another Fox line from Conn. that migrated to the lower part of NY (Delaware Valley if memory serves me) that also had an Ansel. If I can help any, feel free to contact me direct. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/GKX.2ACIB/6969.1.1.2.1 Message Board Post: Hi Walter! Thank you for your response. I am not sure about the Tenn. connection, however, I have heard that Matilda had lived in Tenn. at some point in time, but I have'nt documented anything. I believe we are researching the same Fox family. It is interesting, but I found that Wm. Vannoy married a Levenda Venoy on Dec. 10, 1847. I could not find a death record for her, or a divorce record. Then on Nov. 29, 1849, still in Kentucky, I found a record that Wm. Vannoy married Lucy S. Venoy. Again, I have yet to find a record of a divorce. On Oct. 17, 1853, Wm. Vannoy married Matilda Fox in Knox Co. Kentucky. I could not find any record that he divorced Matilda, but I did find that he returned to Lucy at some point during the Civil War and their first child was born in 1864. The children of Wm. Vannoy and Lucy were: Mary, born in 1864. Henry, born in 1866 in Indiana, Hadley, born in 1868 in Missouri, Clifton, born in 1870 in Missouri, and Silas, born in 1873, again in Missouri! . I wonder if Lucy was the woman that Matilda found Wm. with? Your name sounds very familiar to me. Are you by chance also doing some research with Vicci Fox? My daughter works with Vicci and we are sharing our research efforts. Geri

    2. Robert I have the Barbour records on vitals for Glastonbury & Wethersfield and can find no Anson at all listed. You are surely working on my Fox line with the Abrahams & Joel, Charles, but none of my records has any Anson, I have seen that name while searching online, can't remember where. The Stephen Fox Jr. that mar. Betsy Rice died in North Chemung Cemetery, Chemung Co. NY on January 13, 1858, he was b.1788 in Eastbury Parish, Glastonbury, Ct so JR is not old enough to be Ansons father and all of Stephen Sr's kids are listed in the Barbour collection. I have 2 Abrahams that I do not have kids for that could be parents for a child that age, both in Glastonbury. I will do some more checking and see what I can find on Anson. I believe this is the Matilda Fox and William Vannoy that I'm looking for. My brother-in-law is a descendant of William H. "Billy" Fox and Cora Brewster, Jason Brewster and Matilda Clark. The family story was that Billy Fox was originally born a Vannoy, but his father did something so terrible that his mother and he changed their name to Fox. We also had been told that both mothers of Cora and William were named Matilda. We also heard of the Cherokee heritage. I also noticed a Matilda Fox and William Vannoy listed as pioneers of Claiborne County, Tennessee just south of Knox Co. Kentucky. Are these the same? Thanks again.
