TABOR CITY, NC. - Alma Virginia FOWLER, 75, died Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She was born in Columbus County, NC., a daughter of the late Willie and Lillie COLEMAN AVANT. She was the widow of Sam Hartford FOWLER. Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Kaye FOWLER of Tabor City; five sons, Jimmy Lee FOWLER, Jerry FOWLER, and Grayland FOWLER, all of Tabor City, David Earl FOWLER of Winston-Salem, NC., and Eddie FOWLER of Aberdeen, NC.; a brother, Rufus AVANT of Thomasville, NC.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Gapway Baptist Church. The Rev. Drew HARDEE will officiate. Burial will be in Gapway Cemetery in Tabor City. Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City is in charge.
