Hi. Don't know HOW all these folks connect yet, but my MCVOY/MCEVOY family had a branch that were in RI for some reason in the late 1700's or early 1800's and went to MOBILE,AL in the mid 1800's. They were cousins to my great grandpa Martin McVoy, b.1841 in PENSACOLA FL. Somehow around 1860 or so, Martin McVoy,Sr. went to Calvert Co MD where he ended up fighting for the union in the Civil War. But he married ELIZA JANE COCHRANE,b.1861 & d.1831 and they lived out their lives in CALVERT CO MD. But ELIZA JANE'S mom was ELIZA JANE FOWLER and she was born around 1825 approx and married WM.H.COCHRANE (COCHRAN/COCKRAN/CORCORAN?) of IRE ca. 1840's. I am curious if the FOWLERS in the Southern Part of Calvert Co MD were from New England (RI?)and perhaps that is where MARTIN met the family????? Just not sure, but a possibility. Do you have any MCVOY/MCEVOY/MCAVOY or WHEELERS or MURPHY'S in your FOWLER line???? Thanks!
