    3. Charles, Alas, I fear you were not in Forsyth County (a day's buggy ride north of Atlanta) at all. Rather, it sounds as if you were in Monroe County, of which the town of Forsyth is county seat, and Juliette (the Fried Green Tomatoes filming location) is a charming little village on the east bank of the Ocmulgee River (which forms the boundary between Monroe and Jones counties). But YES, this part of middle Georgia, just below the fall line, IS a charming part of the state. Of course, Forsyth Co has its own charms as well, so be sure to include that if you have time for a trip to north Georgia.! BTW: other "same name" city/county pairs in Georgia (usually in radically different parts of the state) include Cobb/Cobb, Candler/Candler, Decatur/Decatur, et. al. I suspect this problem may occur in other states as well, making it necessary for researchers to make sure they know WHICH of the designations are really being referenced in the old documents we view. Best wishes. Visit us again in Georgia whenever you have the chance.
