I can't find where anyone has brought this subject before the group, but if they have, I apologize up front for repeating. I am planning to have my oldest living male Fowler relative DNA tested. I have found from working with my Kinkead research that the KINCAID-L researchers have a very well organized project up and running and in the process they get a group rate on the testing which is a considerable savings. They are using familytreedna.com and the 25-marker test. I would like to encourage anyone who might be interested to have a male Fowler tested, especially if you have known lines that go back to Europe or other countries. Once they have several tests and the lines start matching up, you can tell which lines have common relatives and narrow down your research considerably. As I understand it, it doesn't do the work for us, just narrows down the search area. The website can explain this a lot better than I can. We can all be individually tested and the results will be kept at the FamilyTreeDNA site for 25 years, but it would be better if we had a project coordinator just for Fowlers. I am not in a position to take on the position of project coordinator, but would encourage anyone who might want to to do this. According to the FamilyTreeDNA site, no Fowlers have participated in this study yet. The site provides information and pricing on the test and how to set up a group project. Thanks, Martha Halbert Arkansas ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! Surf the Web up to FIVE TIMES FASTER!
