I had this letter returned to me with words "permanent fatal errors" and am thus posting it to the list in hope that Margaret is maybe still on the list with a different e-mail or that someone else might be working on the same Fowler line, thanks, Leah in Texas Hi, Margaret in Washington I am writing in response to your posts below. I sure hope we connect; My maternal great-grand mother was a Rachel Fowler from the Dayton Ohio area, I have 1822 as her birth date but it is not well documented. She married married William Caruthers on the 6 Jul 1839 in Ft. Madison, Lee, Iowa and died in Claytonville, Brown, Kansas 19 Dec 1887. I am sure of the marriage information from court house records, and death date from tombstone. The best I can determine from census records is that they moved to Kansas some where around 1850. Mom's dad, James Caruthers, was a twin to John Caruthers and they were born in Brown county Kansas --His (James) death records say 1865, however John's tombstone in Kansas gives birth as 1855 and census records seem to agree with Johns stone. I have not been able to find Rachel's parents and am hoping that we may be working the same line (from Ohio- Iowa looks good). Any help or suggestions would be most welcome.
