    1. [FOWLER] Re: (no subject)
    2. George... At this point I will take any scrap of information I can get. You are the first person I have made contact with who actually had Fowler relatives in Hightower/Cleburne County. I don't know if there were several lines of Fowlers there or not. My information on the Fowlers is so sketchy. In my direct line, everybody is dead except my aunt who is almost 90 and not in the best of health. She is Wilmer Fowler Hancock, my dad's sister, (children of Luther Clarence Fowler and Lula Gadsy Blake) and she was born in Hightower in 1910. Several of my Fowlers married into the Blake family of Randolph and Cleburne counties. In fact, William Jethroe's brother (George Wilson Fowler's) daughter, Mary Kate Fowler, married my grandmother's brother, Forney Linton (Uncle Bud) Blake. That means my great-great uncle's daughter married one of my great uncles! Go figure that one out!! Apparently, spouse pickin's were slim back then and a lot of girls married the boy next door. Mary Kate Fowler Blake (b. 6Oct1883, d. 5Dec1919 in Hightower) is buried in the Ranburne cemetery also beside George Wilson Fowler, her father. On the other side is Samantha C. ---, George's wife. (I took a photo when was there) Uncle Bud Blake remarried to Lena Rachel Harris in 1933. (AHA! One of your names!) Uncle Bud and Lena Rachel had one son, George Blake, born in Cleburne Co., who I understand is still living and resides in Florida. My aunt spoke with him when she lived in Florida in the early 1990s. Of the names you mentioned, only Mamie Lowry seems to jog something in my memory...but I will take any thread, no matter how small. What I am looking for is the line behind William Jethroe Fowler and his siblings, George Wilson, L.C., L.O., J.O., Cecil Mae (married J.N. Hand), Lula Fowler (married Johnson), and Mary Fowler (married White). If I have to come up three generations and backtrack, that is the way I will do it. Send me what you have and I will take it to my aunt and see if it jogs her memory. You are so nice to do this. Thank you so very much. Are you close by? I am in Newnan. Looking forward to hearing from you. Judy
