    3. Jim & Kirk, I am researching this Godfrey Fowler line also, but my line is Godfrey b. 1670 > Godfrey b abt 1700 (Can't find dates)> John > Robert (b abt 1790 or before) > John (b abt 1810) > Thomas A. (b2/15/1843: d 3/4/1908), This line came to Anson County, NC, later Mecklenburg Co. NC. (See HOUSE OF FOWLER by Grover Parsons Fowler, Page 132-152 John Fowler was granted land in Anson County, NC, in 1773. The first grant was for 200 acres, another for 100 acres and another for 150 acres, all grants in Anson county. The 1790 census lists him in Mecklenburg County, which had been formed out of a part of Anson County. This census lists him as having 1 son over 16 years old, 1 son under 16 years old, a wife and one daughter. The 1800 census lists him in Mecklenburg County having 4 in his family. The sons of John are thought to be David Fowler from Montgomery County, NC and Robert Fowler who had a deed in Mecklenburg County for 100 acres on the fork of Richardson Creek. ) Anyone else out there researching this family?
