Welcome to Sharon, thanks for monitoring this site. Am posting my Fowler's in hopes of gathering a new connection. John Fowler b 1740 Scotland, d after 1785, Syracuse NY. He married Ann Elize Keith. From his service in the Revolution, DAR papers "Resided in Albany co. He served as private in Capt. Benjamin Aylsworth's Co., Col. Jacobus Van schoonhoven's Regiment, Algany co., NY Militia" John and Eliza had 2 sons (that I am aware of) 1. William Fowler, an architect, went on to CA. has many descendents, also linked to the Harlan family. They were in CA. before it became a state, his son received a Mexican Land Grant. 2. John Fowler (my line) b 1782 Ny..died 1860, South Bend In. He married Elizabeth Howey 1815, dau. of Thomas Howey and Lodema Harris. I researched "many" John Fowler's in NY. With so many of the same name, has been rather frustrating to locate anything definitive. It's my understanding that some of this line...perhaps William's were prominent in politics, in the East.
