Hi Rod, Thanks for your kind reply. I'm sending you a copy of a reply forwarded to another kind lister. Thanks for your interest "The FOWLER of interest to me is Elizabeth Fowler nee THOMAS born in Almondsbury, Glostershire, Eng. in c1830 and married William L Fowler in England prior to coming to New Zealand. I'm not sure how they came to NZ or if they first came to Australia as Elizabeth's brother, Robert (my g-grandfather) and one sister were both here in Oz. I know she died in Nelson in Nov.1862 and was buried in the Wakapuaka Cem. in Nelson. This information came from a kind soul in NZ some years ago who had a newspaper report. Her headstone apparently states "our mother" so I am interested in finding maybe some of her descendants. She was only 32 at time of her death. At one time I happened to hear of a book in the Dunedin Uni Lib. called "The Fowlers from Gloucester to Nelson" I emailed and wrote to the library asking for information from this book but have NEVER had an answer. Hope this all makes sense to you, basically I am hoping to contact any living descendants of hers.
