    1. [FOWLER] Fowlers from Wales
    2. Jack Fowler
    3. Hi, Just recently found out that my great grandfather Benjamin Fowler (b abt 1850) was born in Wales. His wife's name was Emma ?. I don't know whether they were married in Wales or the US. Benjamin settled in Boston Run located in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Benjamin and Emma had eight children starting with Edward (my grandfather b Jul 1875) he married Nora Connors from Gilberton or Mahanoy Plane, Schuylkill County and they had five children, Nora (b 1898 who married Charles Decker), Benjamin (my Father b 1900 who married Mary Helen Sunderland), Joseph(who married Leah Taylor and later Ell Durko), John (who married Emma Tarn) and Edward (who married Elizabeth Wolfgang). The rest of Benjamin's and Emma's children are Hannah, Margaret, Moll Nan, Frank, Benjamim and Joseph. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Jack Fowler

    1. [FOWLER] The Fowler Family by Stickney-look ups
    2. The Fowler families in this book are almost all New England. I didn't realize the amount of response I would get, so it will take some time to answer. First immigrant is "Philip Fowler, one of the founders of New England, was probably born in Malborough, Wiltshire, England, about 1590. He embarked with his family, in the "Mary and John" of London, Robert Sayres, master, and while lying in the river Thames, they 'were made stay of untill further order' from the Council, 28 Feb. 1633-4, owing to misrepresentation of the colonies...(the 24th of March, 1633-4, when they were allowed to proceed on their voyage, and arrived in New England, in May, 1634." The town in Massachusetts that he settled is Ipswich, so alot of his descendants are around that area. Please do not send me general questions, such as a list of all the Fowlers in Ipswich or Boston (I've already had some of those questions)-I do not have the time to answer questions unless you are searching for a specific Fowler. Thanks. Ruth

    3. LAURA: I believe you and I have corresponded before. I just moved, got into my new house Thursday ... now it's Friday & everything is in boxes except my computer ... so my answer will be incomplete ... I wonder if James is the son of Elexious & his wife Rachel SILVER(S)? Elexious had a son named James who eventually filed for a survivor's pension based on Elexious's Revolutionary War service. Elexious's daughter Charity Fowler-MILBURN moved to Pike County as well, and her son married a Katherine Brenton. Somewhere, packed, I have James' application for a pension ... a print off a micro-film ... very hard to read. Do you have access to any Revolutionary War pension files? If so, look up Elexious Fowler & see if you can glean any more info. If not, e-mail me in a week or two ... hopefully by then my files will be back in my filing cabinet ... and I'll read through the application to see if James' wife or date of birth is listed. 1. [FOWLER] Flora Fowler
    2. Gloria Black
    3. In my records I have a Flora Fowler b. 10 Nov. 1875 in Ky. First child of Carter Fowler and Sallie Ann Durbin. I do not remember offhand where I got this info. I also have a Floa Fowler born 1891 with the same parents. Della Rader, a grandaughter of Carter and Sallie, gave it to me. I do not know of any relation to Lord Baltimore but my grandfather's brother said that our first Fowlers came over either with Lord Baltimore or on the ship that he sent to settle Baltimore. I do not have a marriage for Flora but I have not searched for any.-------- Gloria Fowler Black

    1. [FOWLER] FOWLER, Archibald
    2. Hello, I will post this again and hope that someone will read it who can help me. Archibald (Archie, Archibal) FOWLER md. Edith WEST, dau of Alexander WEST. Archibald FOWLER d. 1839, Greenville Co., SC, and left 11 children. Of these 11, there were three sets of twins. There were three sons: John W. Fowler, West I. Fowler, and Alexander Fowler. Since two of these are named for his father-in-law, Alexander West, it would seem that the 3rd son, John W. Fowler, might be named for Archibald's father. In the past, I have been told that he was the son of John Fowler or the son of Joseph Fowler of Wake Co., NC. I have seen a couple of John Fowler's mentioned on the list lately, and I've read about Joseph Fowler but found no son Archibald. Someone else wrote and said that the actual copy of Archibald's will mentions John as his father. If anyone has any info on this, will you please write me. I will appreciate it very much! I'm getting desperate with this guy, and I know he had a father! I just don't know who he is. By the way, I am descended from Leah Fowler, a twin to Rachael, one of the sets of twins of Archibald and Edith WEST FOWLER. Thank you! Godspeed... Dolores Pringle

    3. Wiley Fowler was a used name in my Fowler line from Cherokee County GA. I descend from Aaron (1796-1844) and Elizabeth Fowler from SC and they first moved to Rabin Co Ga and then to Forsyth Co. Ga and had family in Cherokee Co. In fact, he died at a sister's home in Cherokee Co. One of his sons, William Fowler married a Lucy and lived in Cherokee Co and Wiley is used several times in this line....however, one of the wives was a Wiley before marriage. Therefore, your Wiley might of been named by another surname in that area and probably a wife's maiden name in Cherokee Co.????? My dates in Aaron's family are not working out with yours however there is a brother by the name of Moses and then there is a Jeremiah so they might tie in soon.....I know I have seen the name you are looking for and possibly in that line? Will keep in touch if I find anything for you. I live in Ga. and records are rather easy for me when I get to them.
