The message below came over another list I am a member of. Thought some of you might have the same connections and be able to help her. She says she is not a member of the Fowler list, so if you respond, please do so directly. Her email address is at the bottom of the message. Karen ======== I am searching for the parents and siblings of William Henry Hill b. 1840 probably Ky (maybe Tn). Family legend says he was born a Rice and raised by a Hill family. He married Aletha Jane Fowler b. 1850. They moved to N.E. Ark. where their children were born. My grandfather John Preasley (also known as John Henry) Hill b. 1880 in Bald Knob (White Co.) Ark. His sister Georgia Annie born 1878. I have not been able to locate them on any census until 1900. According to a Confederate Widow's pension. Wm Henry fought with the Tn Confederate Army. (not known which one). Any help with this puzzler would be appreciated. Connie [email protected] Connie Pearl 3309 E. Mt. I don't know if you all caught the posting on Julie Case's Missing Links Volumne 5, No. 11, which about 2/3rds of the way down mentions an ETHEL FOWLER. Someone found a photo album which appears to be of a Cleveland Family. One of the daughters is Mrs. Ethel Fowler. Might want to check it out if Ethel could be yours.
There are some FOWLER names on this website: http://community.webtv.net/sassypup/GLADYSWEBPAGEABOUT
I found this book for sale at Higginsons online for $109. However, I have bought 2 books from them before and it takes weeks and weeks and weeks to come. The two books that I bought were a low quality photocopy. They were a lot cheaper, however. One was about $60 though--and it definitely was a photoccpy--not printed. I wonder what your book looks like? If it is higher quality print, it would be worth the extra cost! And of course, BN will ship in 24 hours instead of weeks. I really wonder if there are any Fowlers who went to Ohio in that book as Ohio is not one of the states listed. My John Fowler was from Virginia and was on the 1850 census in OH. http://www.higginsonbooks.com/newf.htm Carole [email protected] wrote: > > I just bought the book several months ago fr. I am looking for infomation on Abigail FOWLER. Following is what I know for sure about her: She married John JOHNSON on December 24, 1760. The service was performed by Reverend Henry Barclay. This information comes from a letter written by the Archivist of Trinity Church in the City of New York. I also know that she died May 6, 1816 in Charleston, South Carolina. I have been to her grave at the Second Presbyterian Church in Charleston. I have read two different reports as to who her parents were. Some places she is listed as the daughter of Jonathan FOWLER and Anne SEYMOUR. Other sources say her parents were Edmund FOWLER and Rachel HUNT. I am sure both sets of parents had a daughter Abigail. But which was the one who married John JOHNSON. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. Thanks, Kathe Hyslop [email protected]
I just bought the book several months ago fr. Barnes and Noble, but it had to be printed and it came in abt. 2-3 wks. back. It is written on FOWLER families that came from the MD/VA area and states further south and west from there. Hope this helps! The book is very expensive, but I was sure I would never get a look at it otherwise. I am enjoying it very much and hope to be able to offer lookups at some point, but just cannot do them now -- I can't even manage to keep up with my email right now! Sorry, but I will do them later. Please Help! I have posted this same exact message to about 5 Fowler Boards, and no none knows anything. Please help! Thanks! My great grandfather was George W. Fowler. All I know is that he was a traveling salesman, and that he sold shoes for a living. In 1890, he was living with the Kimbriel Family of Webster County, and he was a boarder. Ten years later in 1900, his father, Isaac B. Fowler was living with that same family as a boarder; however, George was not living there. Isaac B. Fowler was born in October of 1844 in South Carolina. Both is his mother and father were born in SC. I don't know their names. In the 1900, Isaac B. Fowler was listed as a Widower of the age of 55. In 1904, George W. Fowler suddenly reappeared in Webster County, and he married Mary Della Kimbriel, the daughter of the man whom boarded both him and his father. George W. Fowler lived in Webster County with his family. In 1906, their only daughter was born, Annie Maxine Fowler. Eight years later in 1914, Mary Della died. George W. Fowler lived a not many years after the death of his wife, but I don't know how many. I do know that he died in Webster County; however, there are not a tombstone for neither himself nor his wife in Webster County. Any information on any of this line of the Fowler Family would be greatly appreciated. Anything would be great. Thank you. Can can respond to me either by posting another message to mine or emailing me. Thank you. David H. Odom
