    1. Re: [FOWLER] James H. Fowler 1842-1892,East Point, ga, Hillcrest cemetery.
    2. If you search for all the Fowlers buried at Hillcrest, you will come across mine, Luther and Lula (Blake) Fowler, and their daughter, Wilmer Fowler Hancock, who are not related (to my knowledge) to your James Fowler. There was a Fowler family in East Point early on which is included in the East Point history book. This James may belong to those Fowlers. I don't have a copy of the book, but my mother does. If you have a copy, it may give you a little history of those Fowlers. If you don't, I can borrow my mother's copy, but I can't do it until next week. My Fowlers didn't appear on the East Point scene until the 1930s, having moved from Cleburne County, AL to Atlanta in the mid-19-teens, then to East Point in the 1930s. Luther was the son of William Jethro Fowler and Lucinda Caroline Owens; William Jethro Fowler was the son of John Fowler and Sarah Ann Norris; and John Fowler was the son of Nathan Fowler and Elizabeth Peppers. The earliest record I have of my Fowlers is Nathan, born about 1800 in Tennessee (a topic for debate), who died in Gwinnett County about 1860. John Fowler died about 1877 and is supposedly buried at Shadnor Baptist Church cemetery in Union City, now Fulton, formerly Campbell County (grave has not been found), and his widow and all his children moved to Cleburne about 1878. If you like, I can see if your James is one of the Fowlers in the East Point book. I grew up in East Point. Judy Fowler Kilgore Newnan

    1. James H. Fowler 1842-1892,East Point, ga, Hillcrest cemetery.
    2. James H. Fowler Born 1842 and Died 1892. Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, East Point, Georgia. He and his infant son are the oldest marked burials in the cemetery. These burials pre date the official establishment of the cemetery in 1893. I am the cemeteries historian and am seeking info on this person. I will later post all Folwers in this lot as well as others in an attempt to provide more connections and a possable answer. The first burial in the cemetery was a Mrs. Hudson. She lived on what is now the cemeteries south circle section. She was buried on her land apparently and the cemetery sprung up from this one burial. I am wondering if this Folwer was related to Mrs. Hudson (no other name or info) based on the fact that the cemetery was established at a later date than his buirial. Could have been the burial of a relative or maybe "Mrs. Hudson was a Fowler by maiden name. Right now we have an historical tour and genealogical assistance day coming up on Nov. 20, 2004 and I am hopiong to find out more about him. (tour info: http://www.geocities.com/memories_in_stone/hillcrest.html ) I did a search based on his birth date of the Civil war Soilders and Sailors system, I had a few returns on the name and cannot confirm that this particular Fowler served in the Civil war for the CSA. Though the info I provide is lacking, I am hoping that a researcher will recognize this person on the dates or burial place alone.

    1. New York/John and Nancy FOWLER
    2. I am led to believe that John and Nancy FOWLER had a daughter Anne, who married after 1840 to Nathaniel MOON. Anne and Nathaniel had children Theron MOON (b 1844 in New York) and Samuel MOON (b 1846 in New York). Anne died in childbirth about 1849 in Wisconsin. I find in the 1850 New York, Ontario County, Canandaigua census: John FOWLER (age 56), Nancy FOWLER (age 58), Harriet FOWLER (age 28), Mary FOWLER (age 21), Thyron MOON (age 6), and Samuel MOON (age 4). Everyone born in New York. Anyone have additional information on this FOWLER family? Audrey Cox Vogelpohl -- Seattle, Washington

    3. Hi: I found a West J. Fowler in the 1840 census in White River, Izard County, Arkansas; roll M704_18; page 214. Hope this helps. 3. I entered the name Drucilla Fowler into GOOGLE and found the names of Thomas and Susanna Iiams Fowler's children and much other information, including Jeremiah and Drucilla Fowler's children. My Joseph is among them married to Betsy Hill and it shows their children, which I already had. Thanks for your offer. Never turn down a good meal, hope you enjoyed your Senior get-to-gather. I went to one recently and liked the entertainment too. This is the way I connect to Jeremiah and Drucilla: 1 Joseph Fowler + 2nd wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Hill 2 James Fowler circa 1810-1870 +Althea Williams 3 John William Fowler 1851-1918 +America Ballard 4 Mary Francis Fowler 1872-1938 +Marcus Delaney Bowling 5 Guy Leon Bowling +Mattie 6 ME We must be some kind of cousins. 3. This is what I wrote and thought it was going to the list but it went to an individual. Thanks for your offer. My Fowlers descend from Joseph Fowler b. circa 1765, Prince George County, MD. He died November 25, 1824, at Station Camp, Estill County, KY. He is listed on the 1820 US Census, Estill County. KY. We believe Joseph was a son of Jeremiah but have no proof. Do you have Jeremiah's children's names? Also, there was a Joseph Fowler who is listed as one of the first settlers at Boonesboro, KY. I am sure you know it is located not far from Richmond in Madison County, KY. I have not had any luck finding out if he was our Joseph. I have a booklet full of Joseph's descendants but I can't seem to get in touch with the author to get permission to copy it. She generously sent it to me in 1998 but now I have lost contact with her and I don't dare copy it without her knowledge. It does not have anything about Jeremiah and Drucilla because she probably had not found them at that time. 3. Does anyone have information on Jeremiah FOWLER, born circa 1711, and Drucilla ISAAC, born circa 1723, probably living in Prince George County, Maryland? They are my brick wall. Are there records of their parents, siblings and descendants? I would very much appreciate any information about them. Thanks, Maxine --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. 2. You are right. I remember now that we were in Monroe County. Arkansas has about the same naming patterns as Georgia. Hot Springs is not in Hot Springs Co., but is in Garland Co. Texas has many counties with cities of the same name in them and they are usually the county seats. I should have checked on Forsyth. Is Forsyth Co. pronounced with the accent on the second syllable?

    3. Charles, Alas, I fear you were not in Forsyth County (a day's buggy ride north of Atlanta) at all. Rather, it sounds as if you were in Monroe County, of which the town of Forsyth is county seat, and Juliette (the Fried Green Tomatoes filming location) is a charming little village on the east bank of the Ocmulgee River (which forms the boundary between Monroe and Jones counties). But YES, this part of middle Georgia, just below the fall line, IS a charming part of the state. Of course, Forsyth Co has its own charms as well, so be sure to include that if you have time for a trip to north Georgia.! BTW: other "same name" city/county pairs in Georgia (usually in radically different parts of the state) include Cobb/Cobb, Candler/Candler, Decatur/Decatur, et. al. I suspect this problem may occur in other states as well, making it necessary for researchers to make sure they know WHICH of the designations are really being referenced in the old documents we view. Best wishes. Visit us again in Georgia whenever you have the chance. 2. Charlie, I also think I am descended from the Henrico Fowlers. Funny, I was in Forsyth Co., two weeks ago meeting with a Middlebrooks Genealogy group. We went to the museum in the rail road station and ate in two of the restaurants in Julliette and went to the Whistle Stop Cafe one night. We really enjoyed it and that is a pretty part of the state. My gggrandfather settled in Jones Co. a good bit earlier than the War of Northern Agression. My grandfather was born there and his family moved to Texas and then Arkansas when he was three years old. 3. Hi, Mary, I believe you sent your email to the wrong Charlie! I'm not complaining , because I AM interested in Fowler DNA, or most anything Fowler. But I see that the message below was from CHASMID@aol.com, and that ain't me. I think that Charles was swapping info with David Payne otime1@yahoo.com : David's website: http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=otime If your undeliverable message was addressed to me it was probably bounced by my norton security. I haven't learned to set it up right and it rejects a lot of my mail. Now that you are in my address book new messages should be accepted. (I think!) I am descended from Franklin County, GA Fowlers who stemmed from the early Henrico County VA family (of the 17th century) with a "stop-over" in Union District SC. Might we be related? 3. Dear Charles, I'm writing to you as I saved a few of the Fowler inquiries. I tried to send something the other day and it came back as undeliverable. Has the Fowler website folded? I surely hope not. I'm sure it's not easy to keep one going, but I surely hope it didn't quit.
