Thomas Boothby FOWLER married Olive Augusta COCKITT (1847-1897) at Chorlton-on-Medlock Register Office (Manchester, UK) in March 1870. There were 2 children - Henshall FOWLER (1872-1936) and Lizzie Ann Boothby Fowler (1870-?), who married a MUIR. (Her own daughter was Marjorie Matley MUIR.) I believe Thomas was probably born in Cheshire, but don't know for certain. The only events I have him tied down to are the marriage and two baptisms. I've been unable to locate him on any census or find a record of his death. I suspect he may have abandonned Olive Augusta. Is the name familiar to anyone? Keith Giles Auckland NZ

Greetings, I am searching for information about: Oscar Bernard FOWLER Martha Jane ANDERSON Children: Guy Anderson FOWLER born: 10 August 1874 Cobden, Union Co, Illinois died: 15 April 1961 Pendelton, Oregon marr: Martha Mae Seymour Gail or Gale FOWLER Guss FOWLER According to my mother Martha Jane was previously married to a MCCARTNEY and had one or two sons by him. According to a very bad photocopy of Guy Anderson's birth certificate that was handed down to me, both Oscar and Martha were born in Kentucky and Oscar's occupation is listed as Methodist Minister. The certificate was made using information sworn to by Clarance L REED of Anna, Illinois who declares he is Guy's uncle. According to a very suspect copy of the 1880 census for Stokes, Union Co, Illinois (call # 1254254) a Martha FOWLER and her children were living with Penda (? - the writing is very unclear, it could be Pender, Penda or Kalamazoo) REED and her three children. Martha's children are listed as Guy, age 5; Gale, age 3; and Guss, age 1. Martha is listed as Penda's daughter. Interestingly enough, there are no adult males listed living there. What, you might be asking, does this man want to know? Well, aside from the solution to the Grand Unified Theory, and why my parents birthdates are never the winning lottery numbers, I would like to know: Who Penda REED really is and if she is my great great-grandmother? The names of Oscar Bernard FOWLER's parents and where they came from. The birth dates and proper names of Gale and Guss, and who they married. If Martha is the daughter of a Ms REED, then who and where is the ANDERSON that gave her her maiden name? Was Martha Jane really married to someone named McCARTNEY, and if so who was he and what happenned to him? Where is Oscar in 1880? If you have any leads I will be very grateful. Willing to share any information I have about Guy Anderson's offspring, and SEYMOUR, BOSS, FISH families. Guy Boss [email protected]

I have started a new List---Connecticut River Valley: [email protected] To subscribe: just put "subscribe" (without the quotes) in message area (email) [email protected] or (digest) [email protected] The Connecticut River Valley was the starting point for migrations to Vermont and NH and onward to NY and western states. I notice that many people who are doing their genealogy from the western states have difficulty tracing their roots "back east" ( those who are in New England have difficulties too) and this List is for everyone who have ancestors that migrated from the Plymouth Colony and the Massachusetts Bay Colony to: (see towns) Most of the settlers, who settled the following towns(1635-1640) were ancestors of those who migrated to Vermont and New Hampshire: New Haven,Conn--1638 Hartford, Conn--1635 Windsor, Conn--1633 Windham County,Conn--(early but not sure of exact dates) Springfield,Mass--1635 - -----------------------------------------migrations go up the Conn.River and some points east Brimfield,Ma - 1636-+ Northampton, Mass--1656 Northfield,Mass--1673/1714 Fort Dummer,(Mass) VT Keene,NH Westminster,VT Ryegate,VT etc. There are more towns but space is limited......but you get the idea Cynthia Frazier-Abbott Listowner..... I'm trying to locate Jesse Fowler, who married Saray Richardson n Cedar Co. MO on 30 Nov. 1845. Have been unable to locate either. Their child states on a later census that both her parents were born in IN. The child states she was born in MO in 1854, but have not been able to locate the Fowler family. Could Jesse be a nick name for something? Any help appreciated. Dix
