I am looking for information on FOWLERs in upstate SC and western NC looking for John F. Fowler's parents John F. Fowler b. approx 1882 and died between July 1918 and Dec 1920 in Piedmont or Pelzer SC, married Ola J. GARNER, around 1908, I am fairly sure his parents were born in NC and came to SC to work in the cotton Mills. BTW, does anyone know if there are old mill employment records out there? THANKS Pam Fowler

Suzanne, Thanks for the note. I am glad you got the info. Since we first "spoke" I have been to the LDS website for the first time (with many visits to follow). Daniel FOWLER and Gabriel FOWLER are both listed as brothers but their parents are listed as Josiah FOWLER and Elizabeth PURDY from Rye, NY, USA; which is different from my suggestion of James FOWLER and Rachel NUTTER from Wales via NY; so I need to look into it closer. My sister lives near you at Gondola Point. She has offered to do some foot work. Do you know where there are records for the Acadian Loyalists Cemetery at French Village, Hampton Parish, Kings Co, NB? This is where James and Rachel (Nutter) Fowler are buried. I'll ask her to look them up. I'll ask her to look at St Pauls in Hampton as well, that is where Gabriel and Jane (Hatfield) Fowler are buried. Again, I appreciate the great info you sent me on the Fowlers' and Gabriel's claim. Thanks. Best Regards Norm

As I was digging through some N.C. webpages, I picked out Fowlers here and there. Didn't find much to help me but perhaps it might point someone in the right direction. I have no other information other than what you see and I've tried to give credit to the person who did the work if I could find their credit.
