Hi all! I'm looking for info on Flora Fowler b. ca. 1882 in Kentucky. I have no info on her family other than her claim to be related to Lord Baltimore. She married William Ursa McNay. They had three daughters and a son and both died in the 1920s of tuberculosis and appendicitis respectively. Does anyone have connections to Flora or Lord Baltimore? Thanks! Kelly
My gggrandfather, James S. FOWLER, was b abt 1809 (in KY according to 1850 census) and died in 1854 in Newton Co., MO. His wife Jerusha Burdett b. abt 1816 in TN d. 1858 in Newton Co. MO. They went to Newton Co in 1841. Have not been able to get back further with this couple. Wondering where the IA Fowlers, that went to SW Missouri, were from before IA and if they had any connection with James. I see in the 1850 census for Newton Co. MO there is a Benjamin E. Fowler 26, m, farmer, born IA Mary, 26, f, b NC, John, 7, m, b IA Thomas, 6, m, b IA Elizabeth, 3, f, b MO William, 2/12, m, b MO (also, lists: Caps, Rawson, 19, m, farmer, b AR) Grace
Hi all Just a repost - hoping yet to connect with anyone!! If you have time please take a look at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Flats/4186/ and see if any of the Fowlers ring bells for you. Most are in Aberdeen, Scotland but one branch did go to the USA. Regards Rhona
If anyone has the above book, would you please contact me personally? There is a name that I would like to have checked out. Donna
Has anybody done any work with FOWLERS from NH? I have a Sally FOWLER who married John HAYES and lived in the Allenstown, Merrimack Co. area of New Hampshire about 1812. Steve

I have a William Alexander Fowler born (supposedly - not yet documented) Dec 26 1863 in Mt. Pleasant, IA, and died (again supposedly) in 1939. His sister is my husband's gg grandmother. I don't know where he wound up precisely, but his parents are supposedly buried in the Fowler Family Cemetery in McDonald County, MO, which I have not successfully located to date. I can trace this Fowler and his sister to Benton County, AR, which is just across the border and also some relatives in OK, so there seems to be some cluster of activity in that little pocket of our country where these states connected. My husband's mother remembers some of William Alexander's descendants so I'm sure I have the right family and have been stuck on the Missouri connection. Email me off list with any additional info you have about him and his family to see if we can match up. Stacia
Does anyone know something about Folts Institute, Herkimer NY? My great-aunt Bertha Fowler had some leadership position there in early 1900`s, Pat Heisel Virginia
Viola, When did your John arrive in IN? and what part of NY did they come from. I am trying to find proof of a John and Abner Fowler related to my Joseph Fowler. All three were in the Essex and Clinton County of NY and I believe originated from Vermont before settling in NY. The Joseph Fowler Family arrived in Wayne County IN before 1817 and after 1815. I found in 1850 Darke Co. Ohio cencus, Hezekiah FOWLER living near and marrying into both PICKETT and MARQUIS families. Nearby was my DANIEL FOWLER also born in Maryland, married to Alice, who's son Clark married Mary Jane PICKETT, and an Alan FOWLER family that could be Daniel's son/brother/cousin/etc.? I have copies of the marriages found in the Family History Center! I too would like to know how all these families fit together! Wanda

Greetings Fowler Descendants My mother is a 94 year old Fowler. I have Fowler surnames on my Fowler genealogy subpage on my main web site below. These are the ones that originated in New Haven, Connecticut. I am going to be putting in other Fowler people descended from these, when I get a chance. Let me know if you make a match and have other Fowler information to add to my site as I would like to make it one of the primary sites for the line from New Haven. Because of space limitations, I can't enter information that does not link to the New Haven Fowlers. I also have some old photos of people there on my Fowler picture page. John Wayland http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~wayland/ I may change my email address, but I can always be found at my web page above.

She follows through James FOWLER. I know nothing of John FOWLER. These FOWLERS were Quakers, and were possibly located Pipe Creek - at least some of James' children were born there. James moved his family to Ohio in abt. 1815. From there some went to Michigan and Oklahoma. Descendants of Benjamin Fowler Generation No. 1 1. Benjamin1 Fowler was born 1735 in Maryland, and died 1820. He married Ales (Alice?). Children of Benjamin Fowler and Ales are: 2 i. John2 Fowler, born 1754. + 3 ii. James Fowler, born May 9, 1758 in Frederick Co., MD; died January 31, 1848. Generation No. 2 3. James2 Fowler (Benjamin1) was born May 9, 1758 in Frederick Co., MD, and died January 31, 1848. He married Mary Ogborn, daughter of Caleb Ogborn and Elizabeth. Notes for James Fowler: James Fowler was a tailor, says Mary Stanley, daughter of Rebecca COWGILL (sister to James). James came to Ohio about 1815. About 1833, James bought a small farm near Beloit, OH, in Smith Township, Mahoning Co. His son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Phebe, went along and helped build a house. When Mary died five years later, James sold out and lived with his son James. The Pipe Creek Monthly Meeting complained of James, January 16, 1819, for not settling his outside affairs. November 11, 1819, they disowned him. Notes for Mary Ogborn: There is a legend, unverified, that claims Mary's great-grandmother was a daughter of King Adolphus, of Sweden. A brother to James, Caleb FOWLER, of Bartlett, OH, named one of his babies (died at birth) Gustavus Adolphus FOWLER, so that generation probably believed the legend. The related ROCHELLES were raised with a similar account - some ancestor was "in line to the Throne (of some country), but renounced her claim to marry for love." Children of James Fowler and Mary Ogborn are: 4 i. Ales3 Fowler. 5 ii. Elizabeth Fowler. + 6 iii. Rebecca Fowler, died 1860 in Amboy Twp, Hillsdale Co., MI. 7 iv. Sarah Fowler, born December 25, 1785 in Pipe Creek, Frederick Co., MD. 8 v. James Fowler, born 1790 in Pipe Creek, Frederick Co, MD. + 9 vi. Caleb Fowler, born March 31, 1792 in Pipe Creek, Frederick Co., MD; died July 21, 1861 in Bartlett, Washington Co., OH. + 10 vii. Lydia Fowler, born February 25, 1795 in Pipe Creek, Frederick Co, MD; died August 15, 1855 in Goshen, Mahoning Co., OH. 11 viii. Joseph Fowler, born August 8, 1796 in Pipe Creek, Frederick Co, MD; died February 18, 1886. + 12 ix.
