I'm researching FAUST/FOUST (often misspelled or mis-transcribed as FROUST). The man I'm researching is Redford (Rhett) Malcolm FAUST. He was born in NC to Ellie E. (surname unknown) between 1889 and 1891 (date varies with each record). Ellie never married Rhett's father, but she did marry William Sanders (see below) a few years later. Rhett's surnname is misspelled FROUST in the 1900 Census, and their is a FROUST family living next door. Maybe this will help: The 1900 census for Randolph County, N.C. on Ancestry.com lists this in Pleasant Grove Township: Sanders, William Head birth year unclear , Ellie E.
