I believe he married Amanda Pate in 1836 after her first husband Jacob Foust died. You mention an "estate settlement" for Jacob. Do you know the specifics? I found the marriage record for Amanda and William Mynatt. I'm interested in determining the names of the three minor children that William took guardianship of in 1841 - do you have a copy of that court record? Does it actually name the three children - as John Leroy, Wiley C. and Nancy Jane? You also mentioned that when Amanda died, her will left everything to her two sons - John Leroy and Wiley C. Foust. There seems to be controversy on whether these boys were sons of Jacob Foust and Amanda or John Foust and his wife Mariah Pate.
