In 1910, she was living in Blair County with son, James Foust In 1920, she was living in Wayne Township, Mifflin County, with daughter Phoebe Sunderland and son-in-law George Sunderland. I've been unable to find an obituary for Sarah Foust in Mifflin County or Blair County during the 1920s. I plan to request a 10-year search for a state death record. Before doing so, I thought I'd ask if anyone had any further information on Sarah Bolinger Foust. Thanks, Angie

I wonder if a brother of Abraham named Heinrich is in your files. I found a court record in Montgomery county - see: FOUST, HENRY. Norriton. October 26, 1784. Anna Foust, Jacob Vanfossen, adms. This Henry might be ancestor to the grandchildren mentioned in Chester county will abstract of Mary Fox, who was actually the widow of Peter Vanfossen. He had used the name Peter Fox after moving to Chester county. Here is a part of that abstract. Fox, Mary. U. Oxford. July 25, 1797. Sept. 9, 1797. To sons John and William, horses, cows, etc. Remainder of cash to son William, except 2/6 to daughter Catherine. Also, Jacob, Benjamin and Nancy, each 2/6. Mentions 2 grandchildren, Abraham and Henry Foust. Executors: John Hook, James Lepber. I've searched in vain to find the grandchildren, Abraham and Henry Foust. Perhaps, you have a lead? Thanks, Clay

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5BX.2ACEB/428.2.1 Message Board Post: Judy Actually I was researching a friend's family but that's OK, happy to try to add to what he knows about his family. We traced my friend Bill Foust's family back to a Samuel Foust born about 1868 in Indiana. He married Laura Sills in Wells County, IN in about 1891. There were actually 3 Samuel Fousts living in one general area of Indiana (Henry, Wabash and Wells County) in the 1880 census. We think it likely that the right Samuel was the one living in Chester Township, Wells County, son of Jacob Foust born 1824-1825. Samuel and Laura Foust were living in Wells County, IN in the period 1900-1930. We think but aren't entirely sure that Samuel Foust's parents were Jacob Foust born 1824-1825 in Ohio and Ruth Wilson born about 1829 in Ohio. Their children were, in addition to Samuel Foust, William born about 1847, William T born about 1850, Priscilla Jane born about 1852, Daniel born about 1854, Reddick born about 1856, Hannah born about 1859, John born about 1860, owen born about 1865, Mary about 1871 and Ida born about 1875. Jacob died in 1910 and was buried in Westfield Township, Morrow County, OH. In 1850, I found what I believe to be the above mentioned Jacob Foust living with his mother Mary (a widow apparently) and two sisters Christina and Emily in Cardington, Morrow County, OH. Mary and her late husband were both born in Pennsylvania. There was a Jonas Foust born about 1808 living two farms away with his wife Elizabeth and 7 children who is probably a relative of Jacob's father. This is as far as I had been able to go because of the fact that Jacob's father was dead prior to 1850. Since I don't know Jacob's father's name, and the census prior to 1850 don't mention the names of other people in the household, that ended the search. There were a lot of people with this name living in both Indiana and Ohio when I was doing the research which of course makes it difficult to make sure you have the right people.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Foust, Stout Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5BX.2ACEB/428.2 Message Board Post: I'm wondering if you are connected to my Foust family of Morrow Co. Ohio. This is one of my most difficult lines, and my information is incomplete. However, my great-great grandmother was Julia Ann Foust of Perry Twp., Morrow Co. (12/14/1822-9/21/1907). She married Philip Stout in 1843 in what was then still Richland Co. (became Morrow Co. in 1848). Julia and Philip moved to Wabash Co., Indiana, in 1844; her brother Henry Foust (12/9/1827-3/27/1910) and his wife Rachel Hixon followed them there after their 1855 marriage, settling on an adjoining plot of land. Julia Ann Foust and Henry Foust are believed to be the two oldest children of Daniel Foust, born 3/7/1798 in York Co., Pennsylvania, died 1/11/1848 in Morrow Co., Ohio. Daniel was married to Louisa Rorbaught (Rohrbach?), but it is thought that he may have had at least one prior marriage. Other children include Ellen (b. ~1832?, m. Van Leiw?), John R. (4/13/1834-2/20/1917), Daniel R. (~1836-1869, also moved to Wabash Co.), Samuel R. (7/24/1840-3/20/1892, m. Elizabeth). The mother Louisa and youngest son Samuel are both buried in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Perry Twp., Morrow Co., Ohio (photos of grave markers available on-line). So far, I have not identified my Stout family in Morrow Co. records; however, I have been interested by the Stout family which lived in Cardington Twp. during this era - another possible connection to your Fousts. I would like to hear back from you or any others who might have any lead on this line. I am happy to share any information I have.

    3. Dear Researchers, I just received this announcement, and thought it would interest quite a few. Hope it helps! Roxanne ListHostess Friends, We wanted to let you know that 10,000 more pages of Wisconsin genealogy and history are now available to you at HYPERLINK "http://www.wisconsinhistory.org"www.wisconsinhistory.org. Earlier this fall we published a digital version of the 20-volume set called "Wisconsin Historical Collections." It was published between 1855 and 1915 in order to share the most important archival collections that the Wisconsin Historical Society was collecting. Of particular interest to genealogists are the following lists and registers: "The Territorial Census for 1836 [complete list]" (HYPERLINK "http://content.wisconsinhistory.org/u?/whc,5850"http://content.wisconsinhis tory.org/u?/whc,5850) "The Population of Brown County, June 1830" (HYPERLINK "http://content.wisconsinhistory.org/u?/whc,6073"http://content.wisconsinhis tory.org/u?/whc,6073) "Register of Baptisms at Mackinac, 1695-1821" (HYPERLINK "http://content.wisconsinhistory.org/u?/whc,10797"http://content.wisconsinhi story.org/u?/whc,10797) "Register of Marriages at Mackinac, 1725-1821" (HYPERLINK "http://content.wisconsinhistory.org/u?/whc,10083"http://content.wisconsinhi story.org/u?/whc,10083) "Register of Interments at Mackinac, 1743-1806" (HYPERLINK "http://content.wisconsinhistory.org/u?/whc,10952"http://content.wisconsinhi story.org/u?/whc,10952) WHC also contains hundreds of pioneer recollections, obituaries, and biographical sketches, as well as printing all the most important documents on early Wisconsin history from French, Canadian, British and American archives. If you have 19th-century Wisconsin ancestors, it’s definitely worth a look. You can do a keyword search on the entire text, but our librarians also cataloged every article so you can find the best ones dealing with any specific person, county, place, or topic. The original massively detailed index to the set, which traces every mention of every name anywhere in the 10,000 pages, is also online (at HYPERLINK "http://content.wisconsinhistory.org/u?/whc,11374"http://content.wisconsinhi story.org/u?/whc,11374) Don't forget to also check our index to more than 2 million Wisconsin births, marriages and deaths (at HYPERLINK "http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/vitalrecords/"www.wisconsinhistory.org/vita lrecords/) and our general Wisconsin Name Index to 150,000 biographies that were printed in 1,500 different sources (HYPERLINK "http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/wni/"www.wisconsinhistory.org/wni/). We continue to improve and expand these indexes on a daily basis. Sincerely, Margaret Sracic Wisconsin Genealogical Research Service Wisconsin Historical Society P.S.
