C. Foust: I've got your family in my database, but not much more than you mentioned in your note. I've been researching the Faust/Foust line (mostly the SC branch) for about 12 years and I try to include all of them that I find--no matter where they are from. I have a few of them from the Pennsylvania side of the family, which I would guess is where your's originated from. I have other Faust/Fousts in Alabama, but most are down south in and around Dale County. I'd be happy to share anything I can with you, but you are probably looking for the northern branch of the family. Just let me know. I am also the administrator for the Faust/Foust DNA Study Project under the auspices of FamilyTreeDNA.com. We don't have too many members as of yet, but it is growing. Have you found any info? I am looking for any Fousts in the Lauderdale area in the 1800s. My Great Great Grandfather was William M.Foust, who was born in N.Carolina in 1834 and died in Poinsett County, Arkansas. He had a son.,John William Foust but he was born in Ark. in 1876. He was a brother to my Great Grandfather, James Isaac who I am researching. I am looking for connections between N.Carolina and Ark. that I think are in Ala. but I can't find anything in the cenus. My Great Grandmother was Delphia Joyner who I also think came from Ala. But I can't find any connections there for any Joyners. I know that Lauderdale County is where some came from. Hi, I looked at some books (and made copies) during a visit to the North Carolina archives that had to do with the Revolution and names that had been proven for DAR membership. If I remember correctly Jacob furnished supplies...that also apparently counted during the Revolutionary War. I moved to what is referred to as Olde Orange County, NC from Randolph County, IN. Jacob's father, Johannes/John lived in Olde Orange, which at the time was a huge county which was divided and sub-divided over the years. I believe parts ended up in 7 counties so in researching it looks like the family kept moving, when, in truth, they stayed in the area and the county kept "moving"! Some list his two wifes, and one lists his parents names and siblings. Some list the names and addresses of who submitted the data on him. Which may give you a contact of kin folk. Give it a try. Foust from Talladega, AL? I have found numerous Foust families in both Blount County, AL and Cullman County, AL; however, none in Talladega. Due to the proximity, there is probably a connection. I am sure that the Samuel M. Foust I am looking for is NOT the Samuel M. Foust frequently listed in Blount County. My Samuel M. Foust was born 27 June 1880 in Talladega and died 15 Dec 1945 in Atlanta, GA. He married Margaret Cummings from Missouri prior to Jan 1911. Samuel spent most of his life working in the Canal Zone and there are numerous (probably 20) ship's manifests showing passage between the Canal Zone and New York or New Orleans between 1911 and about 1940. Samuel and Margaret had no children so of course there are no direct descendants, however, I would like to know who Samuel's parents were.
