Hi, I saw your posts on Rootsweb regarding Thomas Charles Forsyth. I descend from James Forsyth and Hannah Lester out of New London Connecticut. They would be ancestors to Thomas C. Forsyth. Word is Thomas Charles Forsyth was a whaler and left New London on board a whaling ship. I checked dates for ships leaving at that time and we believe he was on one. It made a stop in the Philippines and then the Hawaiian islands. Interestingly, I had my DNA done on ancestry.com and they have a new analysis tool that shows familial pockets of DNA around he world. It literally shows areas of the world where our DNA is related. Well, it turns out my DNA is common to many on the Hawaiian islands which means I must have many cousins there born through the Forsyth lineage.
