It goes back centuries and is documented. I can not find the link between our John (Jean) Jacob Forsyth who settled in Maryland and the European branch. I am willing to share my information to anyone who can give me documented proof of a connection. John lived 1714-1811. He came to America at an unknown date. Some people say his father was Charles Edouard and his mother was Catherine. I have not found any documentation to support this. Again, I am willing to share my documentation to anyone who can help. I know there were 5 children born to Wm. and Seraphina, A set of twin girls born in Aug 1862 and passing in Sept 1862 and another daughter born Feb 1867 and passing July 1867. When Seraphina died in April 1867, she left behind 3 children, the infant that subsequently died in July and 2 others, I believe a daughter, Mary, born prior to the twins and a son, who I believe to be John R., my great-grandfather, born in 1864. Ive taken copies of the ibbetson info on the micro films now thanks, Im back working on the forsyth line and am strugling to find online info about gosforth village of Newcastle around 1900-1935 ref peter and wilhelmina forsyth who lived in various addresses, one being beechfields road, gosforth and was a tailor. His children edith who married james herbert bell, william forsyth and peter forsyth (my great granda) were all left a great sum of money in his probate. I dont have any info on where he worked, if he had his own business or worked for someone else. His sons were named as company directors on his probate which lead me to think he ran his own tailors in newcastle. How would i find this info, where do i begin~?
