Ford, 84, a resident of Johnson Rest Home, Arkwright, the past 3 years, died early today (Jan. 15, 1986) in the rest home. She was born Mar. 20, 1901, in the town of Ellery, a daughter of Conrad & Lena Traphagen Newberry. Mrs. Ford had previously resided at 109 6th St., Jamestown, & later at the Charlotte Villa in Sinclairville. In earlier years, she had worked at the Celoron Post Office & had taught in a district school in Ellery. In 1965 she retired from Crescent Tool Co., after working there more than 37 years. She was a member of the Jamestown Chapter, DAR, & a former member of Jamestown Senior Citizens. Surviving are 2 daughters: Marilyn Anderson of Towerville & Kathryn Farquarson of DesMoines, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; & a brother, Ernest Newberry of Arkwright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman D. Ford, who died July 7, 1983; a sister, Erdis Covert; & a brother, Irwin Newbery. Funeral arrangements will be announce by Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville.
