Looking for parents of Daniel Ford who was born about 1790. The 1850 Henry County, GA census is the only census record that I can find of Daniel after censuses began showing names of all family members, places of birth, etc. This census shows him as having been born in Georgia and his wife Agatha as having been born in Virginia in about 1793. Daniel married Agatha Walker, dau. of Elijah and Elizabeth Walker of Laurens County, SC, formerly of Henry County, Virginia, where I believe Agatha must have been born. Daniel and Agatha were married sometime prior to 1810, when their first child James Y. Ford was born in South Carolina. Both Agatha and Daniel are mentioned by name in Elijah and Elizabeth Walker's estate settlement in Laurens County, SC. The papers state that they were living in Georgia at time of settlement, 1819-1821. Daniel and Agatha apparently moved from Laurens County, SC to Oglethorpe County, GA by 1819, where they purchased land on Clouds Creek from Isaiah Hardman. Daniel Ford is listed as head of household on the 1820 and 1830 Oglethorpe County census records. I believe Daniel and Agatha moved with their children from Oglethorpe County, GA to Henry County, GA, sometimes after the marriage of oldest son James Y. Ford in 1836 in Oglethorpe County. They are listed on the 1840 Henry County, GA census. Agatha died about August 1851 in Henry County, GA and Daniel then married a widow Cynthia Morgan Eberhart on 10 Mar 1856 in Henry County. I cannot find Daniel and Cynthia on the 1860 census, anywhere. Daniel died 31 Dec 1868 in Henry County. Laurens County, SC isn't too far from Oglethorpe County, GA. I believe that Daniel and Agatha may have been connected someway to the Hardman Family of Wilkes/Oglethorpe Counties, GA. If anyone on the list is researching this family and can help, please reply.
