    2. Sounds like a data base could be created in the UK that all of us (UK and US) could enter with our found names, dobs, marriage, deaths, etc. If all in the FORD-L rootsweb.com could have access to enter and analyze it could be a great genalogical base for many of us. Who of you has the computer know how and willingness to get that going? Edward (Ted) Ford

    2. Webmaster
    3. I might be willing to help you with creating a database, I have extensive experience creating websites. My mother's Ford Family is included in a searchable database on my site called Mercer Family History at http://mercerfamilyhistory.com which is named in honor of my grandmother's family. The unique thing about the software that I use for the site is that it can be have multiple administrators setup and by using a username and password system can be administered from any computer with internet access. The site uses PhpNuke as its core software and with several added module's including TNG Genealogy Software. It has the features of adding document's, personal or headstone (in a general photo album or individual album), a forum, and a downloads section for documents (mine has some family tree's and a DAR Book on my Ford Family in Acrobat Reader format) accessible by members only. Each person has their own individual page that includes tabs for viewing their Descendants and Ancestors in several different viewing options and includes the ability to download a gedcom file for an individual by any number of generations set by the administrator of the site. Take a look at the site and let me know if you think it would work. I went ahead a captured a domain name called fordfamilydatabase.com in case there is a interest in starting it up before I suggested this so it would be available. The cost would be what it would cost me which would be $8.88 a year for the domain, $29.00 for the Genealogy Software and right now I can obtain hosting for $15.00 per month for 5 GB (5,000 MB) and 100 GB (100,000 MB) per month Data transfer. Future costs would be determined by the amount of bandwidth and storage size the site requires. I can set up a PayPal account with a link on the site for those wishing to contribute. Let me know what everyone thinks. Thanks Charles A. Watkins http://mercerfamilyhistory.com
