    2. Thanks Joy for that attitude, we just can't go further back than we can go, I think the others were in the other Countries later, and our families came to America earlier, and we just don't know when. The only reason I know that my COOK line was from England is by the census information, everyone else was KY or another State in the USA. I've got one line that has everything different, one member said they were born in PA, another says NJ, then another says the only one that went to KY was my line, and the others went to TEXAS. Now who do we believe. I'm lucky my FORD's were found before I even was looking for them. 2. Might I respond to the statement about all the Fords responses being in America. Those of us who live in America are endeavoring to trace our families beyond and prior to being in America. We know how frustrating it must be to receive only information from America. But... we are as interested in the Fords in England and France or wherever they may have been. We just haven't been able to trace our Fords to the point to get back in some cases to the earliest ones in our country. But, we aren't giving up. Don't you. Some of us started at a later age, to try to discover all we could. It takes time and lots of work, I've found and it is all worth it. I wish you luck in finding your families. I am a Ford descendant so I understand the frustration. Sincerely, Joy

    3. I'd like to say I agree with you Jay. It really isn't lack of interest. I am new to the Ford list and find I have very little information to offer. It seems a lot of what I have been told are from the 1600-1800's and that is very limited. I would love to learn more about them no matter where they live. Thomas and Esther Foord had a son William b between 1640 and 1680. He had 4 children: William, John, Esther and Thomas who died in Middlesex, New Jersey, US abt 1787. That Thomas and his wife Ann had 3 children that I know of: Martha, Stephen and Margaret. Martha is my line. She was born in NY and probably died in or near Burlington Co., New Jersey. She married a Richard Appleton who died there in 1799. She may have remarried? Or she may have died before he did? I really would love to know more about them. Seems like the spelled their name Foord also. I also have two other "Ford" people that I can't connect to any parents: Bathsheba who married a Sherman 91700's) and a Michael Ford who marred a Hatch in the late 1600- or early 1700's. They were all in the US also. I would appreciate any help. -----Original Message----- From: jvford5 [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, January 15, 2006 11:27 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Ford] Re: Ford family Middlesex UK Hello Jay, Barbara and Others Outside the USA, Please understand that it's not because of lack of interest but lack of information. Last land transaction I've found for him was 1874. From original family records, I know he was married, but the letter states that he and his estranged wife had no children. My Thomas Ford had brothers and nieces/nephews in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
