    1. [FORD] Phillip and Delilah (Lane) FORD
    2. Barbara Ford
    3. I have reached a very confusing juncture in my research of my husband's family. We are relatively certain that Phillip and Delilah (Lane) Ford are in our line. The confusion comes here: Someone in our family wrote down years ago that our line descended from Phillip and Delilah, down through a JOHN FORD who was married to Martha Jane Siddens. In my research, I only find a William as the son of Phillip and Delilah, and he was married to Mary (not Martha) Jane Siddens. But I cannot find evidence that they had a son named Joseph Shields Ford (my husband's great grandfather). I know a lot of information from Joseph Shields Ford (m Carrie Kallmeyer, lived and died in Franklin Co, MO), his children and their children. But above Joseph Shields Ford, there is a break in valid information. Can anyone help? Thanks, Barbara Ford

    1. [FORD] Family of Joseph Shields Ford
    2. Barbara Ford
    3. I am researching my husband's family, and my information doesn't go back very far. Can anyone help? I have only back this far: John Ford married Martha Jane Siddens in Indiana in 1848. Their son Joseph Shields Ford (b. 1858) married Carrie Kallmeyer in Missouri, and their son Joseph Sterling Ford (b. 15 Aug 1886) married Lydia Oerly in MO in 1909. They had 10 children including two sets of twins. One of the twins, Joseph Shields Ford (b 1928) is my husband's dad. Any information on this "branch" of the Ford family? Thanks for any help, Barbara Kay (Wilson) Ford

    2. LaRue Foster
    3. The Fords to whom I was referring are from Fairfield County SC, residing there before and after the Revolution. Nathaniel Ford Sr who married Seana McCall, William Gardner Ford who married Magdalen Love, and Hezekiah Ford (some dispute over his wife's identity) were all brothers. They had two sisters, Elizabeth who married Burrell Burge and Martha Keziah who married Nicholas Peay. Their descendants spread mainly to Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, and Georgia. I'm a direct descendant of William Gardner Ford. Most records only show him by his middle name of Gardner. Was he descendent of Nathaniel Ford Sr.? According to his grandchildren he was orphaned at about age 12, sent to Georgia to live possibly with family members and to work on a plantation. His grandmother or grandfather were guardians but he dared not go back when he was unhappy in Georgia and ran away. He said he had two siblings who also survived the epidemic which killed his parents.
