I have posted several requests and wanted to update with the information I have been able to verify. Please respond if there is anything here that corresponds with your branch, or if you have any information to share with me. My husband: Russell Ashley Ford (b 1945 in MO), son of Joseph Shields Ford (b 1927 in MO) and Betty Jean (Scott) Ford. Joseph Shields Ford (b 1927) was son of Joseph Sterling Ford (b 1886 in MO) and Lydia Oerly Ford. Joseph Sterling Ford (b 1886) was son of Joseph Shields Ford (b 1858 in IN) and Carrie Louise Kallmeyer Ford. Joseph Shields Ford (b 1858) was son of John Ford (b 1827 in IN) and Martha Jane Siddens Ford (b 1830 in IN). John Ford (b 1827) was son of Philip Ford (b 1795 in IN) and Delila Lane Ford. We found Philip's will where he named his children, including not only our John (executor of the will) but also his other children Isaac Ford, George Ford, Thomas E Ford, William Ford (who married a Mary Jane Siddens--was she a sister to Martha Jane??--I would be personally interested in this, as my husband Russell Ford and his brother David Ford married sisters (myself and my sister)), Mary L Brown, and Marina Siddons (sic??could this be a different Siddens, or one of the wives??). To continue, Philip Ford (b 1795) was son of William Ford (b 1700's in England, joined British army at age 18 and served throughout Rev War), then married Phebey (my records say she was a Cherokee Indian) in IN and stayed there. That's as far back as I go (my family records say that William's father, in London, refused to give William his inheritance, since he stayed in America, and his part of the inheritance was given to the city of London, and Ford Square was build with his inheritance money. I have not been able to verify that...is there a way to check that out? Barbara Ford

Ford. He was born 29 Feb 1816 in Caswell Co. Census records show a closeness of Rufus/Simeon in northwest Georgia. Also someone wrote me that they thought Rufus came to Georgia with a Ford family. Does this sound reasonable?? George H.

But this post took my eye because I am looking for more information on my husband's Ford family. The reference to Indiana caught my attention. His great grandfather Joseph Shields Ford was born in Brainbridge, Indiana, in 1858 (married Carrie Kallmeyer, b. 1865). They settled in Missouri, Franklin County. Does this ring a bell with anyone's Ford line?

I even went into the Hubbs line, who he was with in the and also the Tillery line trying to look for a answer. My interest is as follows: On my fathers side his wife Mary Frances Byers is a 2nd cousin twice and also a 3rd and 4th cousin through her Boone and Henton lines. My mother was a Ford and there is a large number of them that where in Indiana around the same time including another Joshua that was born in Jefferson Co. around the same time, which you probably run into when you search for yours. So please let me know if you find out anything and I will do the same. Thanks
