Dear Listers: I am searching for the father of John Forbes known to have been residing in Bluefold in 1773. John married a Mary Forbes. No info on her at all. Their son John b. 20 Feb 1775 @ Bluefold married Elspet WALKER 1803 @ Mains of Newe I searched the OPR of Strathdon with a lot of possibles but no positives. Anybody out there that could shed a little light for me? Thank you, but I cannot afford to buy the Book of Forbes. Thank you for your time and consideration. Irene Esson, West Vancouver, BC Canada
Irene Looking for FORBES in Aberdeenshire is like looking for a needle in a haystack!! I am still searching for Margaret Forbes who married a McDonald and had a daughter Ann in 1812 at Ballater. There is no trace of her anywhere! I just keep hoping that someone will find her as a sibling to their ancestor.
