Welcome John. My Forbes was THOMAS FORBES Laird of Thornton Castle near Montrose Scotland. Born about mid 1600's I think. He married ELIZABETH LYON of Glamis castle. Thomas's father was JOHN FORBES who married Lady ELIZABETH STANHOPE does anyone know the forbears of these FORBES? I have been told that my Forbes were of Tolquhon Castle near Aberdeen. I note that yours,John are of Corse Castle, yet you have a Thornton Castle incumbent in your line. William Forbes b. 1542. does this mean that my Forbes are descended from your William?
