I'm a direct descendant of Arthur Forbes through his son Alfred and still own some land that he inherited. In response to your statements above, his (2nd)wife was Judith Moore Forbes. I believe that his first wife was Ann Shannon (rather then his father's wife), and I have a copy of the Shannon land grant. Do you have some evidence that Arthur's father was John Forbes, surveyor general to Gov. Gabriel Johnston of N. Carolina colony in early 1700's? Obviously, we've got to compare notes.
