He was b. in Oquawka,ILL Dec.11 1858, To Smith Edwin Forbes and Mary Ann (Easton) Forbes. Who came from New York,to ILL in 1855. Smith's father was Abraham Forbes b. 1805, married a Lucy Ann Brown. Lucy's father was Smith A. BROWN. Abraham died in 1838 and she remarried to Collins Edward Crandall and moved to Ill in 1855. Where the name of Maxwell came from I have no idea.
