Alice ( Elis, Elas ) Born in 1657. When James was 21 years old he went to Barbados or Jamaica aboard the ship "The Two Brothers" J.R. Jefferies commanding. James and his wife Alice (Elas) arrived in the Camden district of Pasquotank County in October of 1701 from Accawmacke County Virginia bringing with them sons John, James Jr., Thomas, Bayley(Bailey) and Edward, their daughter Elizabeth and the family of Louis and Hester Chevalier alias Lewis and Hester Knight who were likely the parents of Alice. James and his sons amassed through grants and purchased large quantities of land and in fact established what was known as Forbestown which was later renamed Riddle. 2) Bailey Forbes m.
