Dear list, Has anyone else experienced that their Forgues family changed the spelling of their name to be Forbes? There appear to be a lot of Forbes's out there but few Forgues. My great grandfather was Rufus Forgues but his wife was known as Mary Louise Forbes of Adams, MA when I knew her. I have not found a single relative of Rufus Forgues(Forbes). He supposedly was born in Eastern New York, like Cohoes or in the Sarranac Lake area. Anyone have access to these vital records? Or can instruct me to a web site? Thanks Barbara
