Hi Kim: I am not an expert but do you think that Margaret was illegitimate and Chalmers being the mother's name and Anderson the alleged father's name. (or even visa versa). Are you sure of the name Skeock? It doesn't sound Scottish to me or even possibly Irish. Let us hang in and see what other answers you receive I am interested in the name Chalmers in Ayr as because a WALES of mine married a Chalmers. .
