George E. Forbes bought the lot in June 17, 1865. On June 20, 1865 he buried 6 persons, Colen, Josephine, Emaline, William H., William H. and Felicit. His children Ida and Ella gave the lot to Ada Ryder and her father Mortimer Hale, Mortimer's wife was Catherine Forbes (don't know her relation to above). Very confused on all these people. The only Forbes I have connected is Catherine who married Mortimer Hale, and their descendents. Does any of this make sense to you in your research.

I am still looking for Margaret FORBES who married ????? McDonald and had a child Ann in 1812. According to Ann's death certificate, her father was James McDonald, but there is no trace of him or a marriage in Aberdeenshire, Scotland at the right timescale. There is a marriage of Margaret FORBES and William McDonald in 1811 and I think this may be the one. Has anyone any knowledge of this family please. Ann's birth was at Ballater. Doreen.

Dorothy: I do not have a Mary Anderson. The Andersons of Candacraig married many times into the wealthy Forbes family. At the height of glory the Andersons of Candacraig had 50,000 acres next to Balmoral, the Queen's estate in Scotland. I will check your Forbes out when I have time. I have tried for sometime to see if the Roderick Mackintosh son of Barbara Forbes and John Mackintosh was also the husband of Mary Anderson. All lived in the 1700's--Roderick born in Inverness and Mary's birth and parentage unknown. A Roderick Mackintosh and a Mary Anderson were married in Scotland about 1774.
