In the 1850 census of Harris County, Georgia his occupation is listed as a millwright. John, Mary A., & Annie L. Westwood are living in the same house hold. John is also listed as a millwright. John's daughter Annie L. was born in McMinn, TN. I am looking for any information about James. I am very interested in the occupation (millwright) of James. I would like to know by whom or where James may have been employed as a millwright. If anyone has any information about Jamea or his occupation please reply.

But, I cant find John anywhere. A family member said that we are related to Williams Collins and I looked it up and he has a sister in law Rhoda Ewing in his household so his wife Maggie must be a Ewing too. I look i n 1900 Census and dont find Rhoda but, I do find the Collins again and it states that 1870 she came over . REcently we went cemetery hunting and I found a Ewing stone and saw a 10 yrs old William Ewing d. 1876 and a Mary A. Ewing above him so I think I found another sibling and on the other side of the stone is a Jennie Ewing died as a baby and a family memeber just found some papers and found out the Jennie is John Ewing and Martha Elizabeth Rusk daughter. So, now I know they are family. I want to thank everyone of thier suggestions and help.

Hello, I am hoping someone out there will connect with or find something familiar with my line :) My great great grandmother's name was Mary Elizabeth Forbes, daughter of George Jackson Forbes (b. Jan. 5, 1813 in NC or SC) and Nancy Headen (b. Jan. 10, 1811 on GA) Mary also apparently had a brother named Green Bush Forbes. Mary was born between 1850 and 1854 (depending which census record you go by) in GA. This is her info..... Mary Elizabeth Forbes, b. between 1844-1850 in Georgia married Unknown Berry. Their children were: 1. George Jackson Berry, b. 7/22/1876 in Atlanta, GA 2. Eugene (Karl) Berry, b. 1878 in NY 3. Allie J. Berry, b. 7/6/1880 in GA In the 1880 Census, I find Mary Berry (Forbes) living in GA with sons George and Eugene and listed as a widow. age 30. She must have been pregnant with Allie at the time of the Census. I was told that Mary later married an Unknown Wright. From George Jackson Berry's obituary (1934), I see that he is survived by two brothers with the last name of Wright, so it fits. The children of Unknown Wright and Mary Berry Wright (Forbes) are: 1. Paul Wright of Tucson (1934) 2. W.W. Wright of Alabama (1934) In the 1920 Census, I find Mary again in the 1920 Census. She is living with her son, George Jackson Berry and two of his children in Carter County, OK. She is listed again as widowed, age 66. As you can see her, birthdate varies from the two Census'. I had been told that she died in 1923 in OK and buried at RoseHill Cemetery in Ardmore, OK. I called the cemetery and they have no record of her. I sent for her death certificate, no such record for her under any of the three Surnames between 1923 and 1929. I am at a loss. HELP! I have received two of her three Berry children's d'certificates and the Unknown Berry is listed as ??Berry on one and George Berry on another. Thanks for your time and any help you may give..... Christine

Surnames: FORBES Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EEX.2ACIB/817 Message Board Post: Hi! I am looking for information on an Alexander Forbes who would be between the age of 40 and 50, in the 1840 census. The Alexander Forbes I am looking for lived in Howell Township, NJ according to the 1840 census. He may have worked for or lived in the area of the Howell Works (now Allaire State Park) in Monmouth County, NJ. He is on the 1840 census, however he is not on the 1850 census. The furnance blew out so that may be the cause of the move. I don't know where he was born or who he was married to. The census data gives the following information: 1 male between 0 and 5, 2 males between 5 and 10, and one adult male between 40 and 50. 1 female between 0 and 5, 2 females between 10 and 15 and one adult female between 30 and 40. Any help would be very much welcome. I am trying to place Alexander Forbes in Howell Works in the 1830s. Would like to know the names of his wife and children, where everyone was born, died - cemetery info, work Alexander did. And where he and his family moved to. Thank you, please feel free to email me directly.
