Theresa was born January 22, 1918, in the Bronx, NY. She and her husband Philip originally moved to New Mexico from New York City in 1944 and lived in Santa Fe, and then Los Alamos, through the 1940's. Due to family needs, they returned to the New York City area in 1950. At that time Theresa made a promise to herself that she would return to her beautiful New Mexico. For the next 30 years Theresa worked in New York City and Northern New Jersey as an executive for Bloomingdales. Upon retirement from Bloomingdales, she made good on her promise to herself to return to New Mexico and settled in RIo Rancho. In 1985, as a member of the Rio Rancho Welcome Wagon, she was elected president and served with distinction for her year term. She was a volunteer at Saint Joseph's West Mesa Hospital for many years. An avid bridge player, she belonged to a number of Rio Ra! ncho bridge clubs and groups. Theresa is survived by her daughter, Katherine Buffington; her son, Peter Forbes and his wife Robyn and her grandchildren Robert and Elyse Forbes and Derek Buffington. Theresa was a great friend to many and will be missed very much. A celebration of her life will take place at her son's home in Rio Rancho on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. January 26, 2003.

Hi everyone In 1875 Annie Forbes, daughter of John Forbes married John Stretton. Is there anyone out there who has information on Annie and her parents and siblings. I understand she was born in Australia. They lived in South Australia. I know Annie died in Perth after remarrying to Josiah Jordan after her husband John Stretton died near Coolgardie. I am looking for a William Forbes born in County Tyrone Ireland. I know nothing about him, and I can't trace my family line any further back beyond his son Thomas Forbes born 1801 in County Tyrone Ireland. He married a Nancy Bell. They had a daughter named Mary Forbes born Feb 3 1843 in County Tyrone Ireland. Sometime after that they came to Wellsburg West Virginia. Mary Forbes married James Ward Moore Carmichael May 7 1861. They had a son named William James Carmichael born Sept 17 1875 in Wellsburg W.VA. Maybe somehow these Williams are related??? Do you have any more information on William???

Dear list Just hoping that someone else out there is following the FORBES family from Flisk, Fife in the mid 1700's, and then to Auchtermuchty and Dunshalt , Fife by 1800. One son, Alexander, came to Baltimore, Maryland in 1828 and apparently married a widow with several children. Helen in Ontario

My abraham died in dewittville new york in april 1838 and is burried some where up there, have not found anything on him. His son Smith Edwin Forbes b. nov. 1835. His first name of smith came from his mother's father. Smith A. Brown from Warren co, ny My g grandfather came to Ill in 1855, and died there. Sorry I can't help you.
