    3. Dear Forbes, this is my first time to post to your list. My husband and I live in the beautiful hills of Brown County, IN after escaping from the city life of Dallas. We attend about 25 Scottish festivals throughout the year around the country where many of the Forbes folk have their clan tents. I'd like to keep you all posted on the Scottish Festival/Game circuit as I think it is also an important link to our heritage. For all of you in the Midwest, July 17 and 18 there will be a Scottish Festival in Columbus, IN at Mill Race Park. The Ceilidh is Friday night and costs $15 it is held at the Ramada Inn. Can you tell I am the publicity chairperson for the festival? Also, I would be re-miss in not mentioning my website at:http://www.greatscotshop.com This is the only time I'll write that we have Forbes ties, Scarves, kilt and clan items. Just wanted you to know---don't want to make this a forum to sell my wares--just mentioned it this time as it is a very important part of my life. Thanks, Sally Great Scot P.O. 2. I am new to the list so thought I should post some of my line. I have William Forbes b c1760. Wife unknown. His son Angus m Lucy Geer 11/5/1810 in Rockbridge Co. Their son Angus m Angeline Bennington 9/30/1846 in Rockbridge Co. (This is the way I've always been told.) I couldn'd find them in the 1850 Rockbridge Census so I started looking around and found them in Allegheny Co. living with a George Forbes age 53 and Nancy Forbes age 66. Now I wonder who these people are and how they are all related. Is anyone researching this family? Or if any of this rings a bell, please drop me a line. Thanks, Doris Snyder dvs1119@aol.com

    1. THOMAS FORBES
    2. Timothy Miller
    3. Hello- I recently found out that my ggg grandfather was Thomas FORBES born 1808 in Scotland. Possibly Perth area. He immigrated to USA 1838 and married 7 July 1838 in NY to Margaret MACLACHLAN. She was born 1817 possibly from Dunfermlin. They ended up in Ottawa, LaSalle Co., Illinois. Both died there in 1894. Have been through Scots Origins for both but I don't have an exact dob on either of them. LDS has listed in the IGI the marriage date and place of NY and also in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. They had children William John, Thamas Jr., Susan, Charles Mailer, Albert, & Harvey. Time span on kids 1840-1854. I know for a fact that William John moved to Wayne Co., Illinois with wife Mary jeanette Tracy and kids. Susan died young, Thomas Jr. moved to Chicago area. The other boys I can't say where they ended up exactly. I have found some of their marriage licenses and a child for one of them. Does this shake anyone's family tree? I would love to find out Thomas Sr. and Margaret's parents or descendants of the other sons. Thanks! Dana Miller Evansville, Indiana USA
