Looking for THOMAS FORBES, he was the Laird of Thornton,(just north of Montrose) I have some info on him but not the date or manner of his death. What I would like to know is 'Did he die before the '45 rebellion? or was he involved?. So if any of you FORBES chasers out there have anything on old Thomas I would be grateful. Kay.

I'm very new to this list & need help! Andrew FORBES (birth year unknown) b. maybe in PA, md. 17 Mar 1831 (prob. in PA) to Nancy Ann Alexander AGER (don't know which is her birth surname) b. 1811 in Northern Ireland. They had children: William Wallace FORBES b. 15 Jul 1832 in PA; Thomas Andrew FORBES b. 10 Dec 1834. Family was in Monroe Co. MO in 1835 when Andrew FORBES d. 24 Sept 1835. Probate records there have no clues as to his parents or where he was born. No info on Nancy or the kids either. Land grant for Andrew has no info on his place of birth. In 1837 Nancy md. Robert K. CRAWFORD of nearby Ralls Co. MO. (Robt. had been md. before and had two children) Nancy and Robert had a bunch of kids & moved on to Linn Co. MO where RK Crawford died. Nancy and some kids moved on to California. Have no idea what happened to children of Andrew Forbes and wf. Nancy. No mention of guardians for them in probate proceedings for Andrew. Really want to know the parents of Andrew FORBES and parents of his wife Nancy Ann Alexander Ager. And need to know where they were married. In my last message I did not get the introduction correct. What I wanted say was my wife's ancestor was also a dentist in St. Louis. CHARLES was a dentist there from 1856 until 1880 as was ISAIAH. (see previous message from Kathy)

Hi: I'm doing research on Forbes from VA. I have a William b c1760 and living in Rockbridge, VA by 1780. He had a son Angus b c1790 who m Lucy Geer. I've always been of the impression that his son, Angus, Jr. was my line. But last year I found Angus, Jr. living with a George/Nancy in Allegheny Co., VA. (after he married). Hi Lisa – Tell us a little about your Forbes. What area of the country are you looking at? I have Forbes from Missouri and Iowa. Mine start off with Isaac Forbes b. 26 Jan 1832 and Mary L Reynolds b. 5 Dec 1830. They were married 17 Nov. 1853. I know there are several people out there doing research on Forbes. I have not tried to go back any further than Isaac and Mary. Isaac and Mary had nine children: Matilda, Richard, Isaac F., Martha Francis, Mary Ellen, Melissa C., Abraham and Franklin. His wife, Lydia, moved to Wisconsin, along with brother-in-law Nicolas Forbes and grown children George, Jacob, John, Thomas, Mary and Merrick Alexander around 1846-1856. I have been researching Thomas, born 4/8/1824 in New York, married to Mary Jane Colt. Children Delilah or Delina, Delos, Volney, Lidia, John, Florence, Charles. John FORBES married Mary MURDOCH 20 April 1804 at St Matthew's Presbyterian Church in Halifax NS. The same church has baptismal records for three of their children: James William FORBES - 19 May 1807 William Murdoch FORBES - 15 Mar 1812 John Hayes FORBES - Mar 1812 John FORBES was dead by the time the two youngest boys were baptised, possibly drowned after falling off the wharf in Halifax Harbour, likely 1810/11/12. I am up against a brick wall in researching Edward Forbes who was born somewhere in Alabama in 1840. He was on the 1900 census of Van Zandt Co., Texas. The census states that his father was born in Ireland and his mother was born in Alabama. He was married to Sarah Waggoner. Sarah and her parents were all born in Alabama. Edward and Sarah's known children were: Ethel, Charlie, Louanna, Lela, and Ose. They were all born in Texas. If anyone could offer any information or any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.
