I am new to this list. I have a query - is there anyone researching the Forbes who lived in Tain, Ross & Cromarty? I am interested who the parents were of: John Forbes, Master Tailor who was born ca 1780 in Tain, Ross & Cromarty. He was married to Jane MacKenzie. They had 9 children:- Jean, Alexander, Anne, Helen, Girzell (I think she was known as Grace)William, Hector, Hugh and John Rufel. Their daughter Grace married Robert Newlands (my husband's Gt.
