Noan - I corresponded a few months ago with a lady from Georgia named Joan Sellers Johnson, who is descended somehow from the David Forbes/Margaret Sellers marriage. She is fairly active on this list and will likely respond. It is corrected above. I am NOT related to Wilsons, just have reason to believe that person many years ago may have inherited the bible of my ancestor and I would like very much to obtain a copy of original records if it or the published copy still exist. Thanks.
Dear FORBES person: You did not sign your name to your message! I have been doing the online work for a friend who is a Forbes descendant. She would like to know if you are related to Verna Forbes Wilson who is involved in Taz
Posted on: FORBES Bible Records Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/surnames/f/o/FORBES/bible_records/10002 Surname: Forbes, Dennis, Bowker, Ball ------------------------- Phebe (Dennis) Forbes was my gateway ancestor in Nova Scotia 1783. The last known lady who had the Bible is Mrs. Margaret Irene (Bowker) Ball of USA, ?Mass. She was prob. the neice of Edna (Forbes) Wilson of Barrington, Nova Scotia. After Walter and Edna (Forbes) Wilson died in 1950, everything (house and contents) was apparently left to Edna's niece, Mrs. Margaret Ball. She was from the States somewhere and no one seems to know where. She was alive in 1950, and not known to have had any family. She must have been a daughter of one of Edna's siblings: Annie, Hattie, Leslie or Joseph Forbes. I am seeking a copy of original records, or if available would purchase Bible for genealogical and sentimantal reasons.
Hi Everyone, This was postedb to the CRAIG-L list by a mewmber. There is a very sneaky virus running around. It is called w32.badtrans. I thought this might be helpful if you start getting a host of attachments. John This is the virus that is passing around. I put all of the file names in my message filters which has helped but I'm not opening any files until I know who they are from and what it contains! To learn more about it: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/pf/w32.badtrans.13312@mm.html Symantec AntiVirus Research Center (SARC) W32.Badtrans.13312@mm Discovered on: April 11, 2001 Last Updated on: April 16, 2001 at 09:32:39 AM PDT W32.Badtrans.13312@mm is a MAPI worm that replies to all unread mails in your email message folders, and drops a backdoor Trojan. Also Known As: W32/Badtrans-A, W32/Badtrans@MM, BadTrans, IWorm_Badtrans, I-Worm.Badtrans, TROJ_BADTRANS.A Category: Worm Infection Length: 13312 Virus Definitions: April 11, 2001 Threat Assessment: Payload: Large scale e-mailing: It replies to all unread messages in the message folders within the default MAPI email program. Compromises security settings: It drops a backdoor Trojan. Technical description: When the worm is executed, it drops the backdoor Trojan Hkk32.exe in the \Windows folder, and then executes it. It then copies itself into the Windows folder as inetd.exe, adds a run= line to the Win.ini, and displays the following message: (An error box pops up and it say's .... INSTALL ERROR probable due to bad data transmission...) The next time that the computer is rebooted, the worm will wait for 5 minutes, then it will use MAPI to find all unread email messages and reply to all of them. The worm will attach itself to the email, using one of the following file names: Pics.ZIP.scr images.pif README.TXT.pif New_Napster_Site.DOC.scr news_doc.scr hamster.ZIP.scr YOU_are_FAT!.TXT.pif searchURL.scr SETUP.pif Card.pif Me_nude.AVI.pif Sorry_about_yesterday.DOC.pif s3msong.MP3.pif docs.scr Humor.TXT.pif fun.pif Removal instructions: To remove this worm: 1. Run LiveUpdate to make sure that you have the most recent virus definitions. 2. Start Norton AntiVirus (NAV), and then run a full system scan, making sure that NAV is set to scan all files. 3. Delete any files detected as W32.Badtrans.13312@mm. 4. Click Start, and click Run. 5. Type sysedit and then click OK. 6. Click the title bar of the Win.ini file. 7. In the [windows] section, locate the run= line. It will look similar to the following: run=c:\windows\inetd.exe 8. Remove the text to the right of the = sign, so that the line now reads: run= 9. Save your changes and exit the System Configuration Editor.

Hello All I am a new subscriber and have a rather perplexing problem with an ancestor. His name is Francis FORBES and he appears first in Edinburgh in 1799 when he married Elizabeth BROOMFIELD. She was 20 years old so he may have been almost any age from 17 upwards. They had two children in Edinburgh then moved to Glasgow and had three more, then they disappeared. I do not even know where or when they died. One of their daughters living at Longformacus on the 1851 census had a brother living with her family. He was born it said at South Leith about 1818 so the family must had returned to the Edinburgh area. But I did not find them at Leith or in any of the Edinburgh parishes I have searched. I do not know where they went or where Francis was born. His children were Robert Waugh b 1801, Janet b 1802, Elizabeth b 1804, George b 1806, Francis b 1807 then others I do not know amongst whom was John b c1818. If any subscriber has seen this family anywhere or any Forbes Family which may be them please contact me as I have been searching for 15 years now without success and wonder if I am missing the point when it comes to my elusive Francis Forbes. Thank you in advance to anyone willing to give advice or information. Regards, Gene.
I sent the e-mail below which I hope will also come through below this e-mail but unfortunately sent it to an incorrect address so it was returned. I hope the subscribers will be able to read it below. Regards, Gene.

Hi everyone I'm looking for descendants of the FORBES of county Longford, Ireland. Charles Forbes born Oct 1865 Frances Forbes born Oct 1863 Maria Forbes born Nov 1861 They are said to have emigrated to America (maybe Canada) in the 1880's. If you have any connections with county Longford in Ireland, please let me know. There are several more family members from earlier generations who were born in Ireland, then got on a ship and disappeared. Sheila FORBES
