In the will of Issac Burrill of Thomson, CT, 26 March 1781, he bequeaths some shillings to his granddaughter Phebe Dyke. Phebe's mother was Esther Burrill, daughter of Isaac Burrill and Phebe Pierce. Esther Burrill married Nathaniel Dyke who is considered to be the founding father of Wellsville, NY. Nathaniel is buried in the Cole Cemetery, Elm Valley, NY.

Served in War Between the States as 1/LT with Company H, 1st Louisiana Cavalry; captured 29 July 1863 at Winchester County, Kentucky; paroled 12 June 1865 at Fort Delaware, Delaware. Removed with family to Houston, Harris County, Texas where he died in 1883 (census record). Was his mother or either grandmother a Forbes? Were his ancestors in Scotland?
