    3. I hope this msg is not sent to the List but.... My name is Yolanda "Fountain" / Fontaine etc etc. Although I lived with both parents, I know nothing about my father. He appeared, at age 30 in my mother's village (in 1929). They were married l year later. His life and family before are a mystery. Before I can start tracing his family, I must find a true link to the past. I know I am grasping at straws here, but please answer if you can: Do you, in your family, have an uncle or great-uncle who broke family ties or disappeared at about that time? Although he may have gone so far as to change his name, here is the information I have been told: Name: Wilfrid Ralph Fountain (though once a "stranger" walked up to him and said "Hello, Dick!" Born: 7 March 1899 (once he said he was born in or near Quebec City) Lived in the States because he didn't speak French very well - terrible accent. I believe he spent some of his formative years around Boston or along the east coast of Maine. This I say because of the way he pronounced certain words. He was a deep-sea diver and worked on under-water construction; repairing wharfs and dams etc. This I know is true. I have searched (as much as possible from where I live) Census records; Home Children; Orphan lists; variants of the Fountain name; etc. To no avail. I need to make that first connection. Thank you for your attention Yolanda Fountain

    3. SORRY! This was supposed to be sent to "Roger Fontaine" who posted an answer to your list. I did not mean to bother the whole list with my question.
