    3. First, the last question. Varennes is a small town next to Vercheres. Both are located on the south side of the St. Lawrence River a short distance from Montreal, Quebec. So what ever information you have on them and their descendants would be appreciated. Tony Fontaine ----- Original Message ----- From: S. Burke Thank-you for all of the information that you sent. I believe my ancestor is the Louis Augustin Fontaine that is listed as born in 1786. My Louis was listed as Fontaine when he joined the York Militia. He was born in Quebec, 1786. By the time he left the Militia, and in the later Census', his last name had been changed to Fountain. I have quite a bit of information for his descendants, and would love to know more about him and his family. Where is Varennes, Quebec? Thank-you again Lisa
