She married James CARTO (aka Jacques ARTAUT or HERTAUT.) (It is said that he was a furrier that worked for John Jacob Astor and traded w/ the Northern Native Americans.) I am searching for proof that these two are the parents of Jerome Millien CARTO. Margaret (Mary)and (Jacques) James appear to have had at least two children: Jerome A Millien CARTO b. 26 May 1836 in Perry Mills, Canada. Jerome entered the US 1837. He married Eleonore PROSPER 25 Nov 1863. They lived in Champlain, NY and Hoyoke, MA. Jerome died in 1902 in Massachusetts. Eleazer CARTO born May 1846 in Moores, Clinton County, NY and married Matilda May ROY of Champlain, NY. ----------------- Can anyone help her? My guess is she is on the ROBERT dit LAFONTAINE line.
